Social media influencer Christina Chance promotes the perfect family image. This year, she has the chance to become the face of lifestyle brand, Love Handles, on the condition that her Christmas Eve special delivers at least two million engagements. Seems easy enough except Christina’s family is far from perfect. When her Love Handles account manager, Devon, shows up and discovers Christina’s life is all smoke and mirrors, he helps Christina keep up her ruse. With a Christmas wish, Christina and Devon are given the chance to relive the day until Christina can get the views she needs to win the endorsement. Christmas in July Movie #3 ππ
While searching far and wide for Christmas movies I've never seen I discovered that Tubi TV has original movies, and one of them is Christmas themed. So I buckled in for the ride.
This film is a mishmash of two great holiday classic films, Groundhog Day and Christmas in Connecticut. Christina (Tori Anderson) is some kind of perfect cook/mom/crafty person on the internet who is so close to signing a big marketing deal, but she has to have them clicks on her live stream Christmas show. Turns out that Christina has a secret, her family is kind of a sham. (Christmas in Connecticut connection.) When Devon (Mykee Selkin) shows up uncovering the truth the show turns disastrous. Christina makes a wish in front of Santa and boom time loop madness begins. (Groundhog Day connection.) I really had fun with this movie, it made me laugh. I loved that Christina and Devon spent an entire day in the kitchen making graphs and charts trying to figure out how the time loop happened, and Christina frustrated that they were Groundhoging it. When they manhandled the fake Santa more than once I giggled. The movie had me laughing when Christina and Devon woke up in the mornings and started to weep in frustration. Good cast with good chemistry. Does get a tad drama overload towards the end, but you know they had to find love and learn lessons. I was surprised I liked this movie as much as I did, and it's like a little hidden gem out there waiting to be discovered.
