Christmas in July Movie #5 🎄🏖

This movie was definitely for a younger crowd, tweens and teens, but it’s kinda cute. I liked that it was witty-ish, and I didn't find it horrible. It's definitely okay, and I kinda liked it. Was surprised it was a musical, the movie apparently forgot it was too. You spend long stretches of time without any singing. If you dance, and sing, and fall in love in the middle of the movie you're a musical. I do question why they had to auto tune the songs. Let's say that didn't help at all, these songs are not gonna be on the radio. The cast was decent. The absolute standout Johannah Newmarch was deliciously evil as the stepmom. The movie doesn't look like it had much of a budget, but it looks pretty decent. At the end of the day I don't think this is a bad family watch or holiday movie.

I do have some questions story wise. This girl is seventeen and works non stop. None of these teens go to school, but have all day grown up jobs. I'm not sure how old "Prince Charming" is, he's a manager to rock bands but looks all of fifteen. I don't know how old any of these youngins are, like seventeen or eighteen tops. You can say they're on Christmas break, but no these kids don't go to school. It's not a deal breaker, the thought just popped in my head. In the end it does not matter because it's a fairytale.

My Rating: 🌟🌟½ 👍
