Oh my gosh, I loved this movie. It might be my favorite so far that Hallmark has aired. I had to get used to a beardless Tyler Hynes, still sexy but if I'm honest sexier with the beard. So much chemistry between Bethany Joy Lenz and Tyler Hynes, the cast was great, likable characters, funny, touching, and a lot of fun. Essentially Jamie (Tyler Hynes) is having one hell of a self pity party, even breaking up with Emily (Bethany Joy Lenz). He hasn't told his family, he's starting a new hob, he's got writers block on a very important speech he's gotta right. At home he bumps into Emily, also on a very important work mission, and his family is like come on over. Emily is upset naturally, but the two make a deal and fake date through the holidays. Shenanigans follow, and Tyler Hynes wears a unicorn costume at some point so it's a must watch. The family dynamic is great, and you want to root for everybody. I think anybody could see where the story ultimately leads, but who cares because it's just so much fun to watch. Pretending to date for the holidays is a well worn troupe for Christmas films, but this one is funny, cute, heart warming, and really tries to have fun with a well worn plot device. I highly recommend. On a side note, Hallmark Star Paul Campbell co-wrote this film.
Update: I totally missed it and had to go back and rewatch, but there's an Andrew Walker cameo up in this.
