Christmas in July Movie #24๐๐️
There's something about this movie that is charming, not great, but charming. I giggled throughout because the North Pole, Santa's house, and the toy factory were just decorated offices and a house. Let's sprinkle some ornaments and Christmas lights to make this look magical. Jack Frost looked like a monster from a late nineties Disney Channel movie. Reminded me of something from Halloween Town. (I still hardcore love Halloween Town.) Come to find out this movie was filmed at Shenandoah University with the students helping, so that's cool. I gotta say that the premise of the move is fun. Santa's daughter wants to live a normal life, and she's in an arranged marriage to Jack Frost's kid, and she meets a dude who doesn't believe her but is not at all bothered by her friend's elf ears, or Jack Frost's face, or magic happening. He ain't that bright. I admit to laughing, it was witty at times. Barry Bostwick is great. The special effects are terrible, a majority of the acting is not good, everybody is probably just wearing their own clothes, but yet there is that charm that kinda sucks you in. I don't think this film successfully pulls off what it's trying to accomplish. You've got a magical fantasy story that doesn't feel or look it. It's kinda like a glorified student film, but I've watched worse.
My Rating: ⭐⭐½
