I really enjoyed the family focus approach this film took. It’s nice to see a non romance holiday film after watching so many true love blooms in a week under the mistletoe ones. So we have three sisters who’ve drifted apart with one last scavenger hunt from their dad to complete for Christmas. Loved the positive portrayal of a blended adopted family. I feel like they balanced all the story arks well, each sister got a chance to shine. The movie didn’t feel crowed with unnecessary plot, and nobody felt like they got shoved aside. The focus is totally on the sisters, so their romantic pairings didn’t get as much screen time, but those characters were fully developed and had their moments. The entire cast had chemistry, all the characters were likable. I really enjoyed this this one. A lot of what the characters were going through, or struggling with, felt totally believable. It was really easy to relate with.
I am surprised Hallmark saved this one for streaming exclusively. I think there’s a large part of their audience who would totally love it, plus a few Hallmark stars starring doesn’t hurt either. I predict before the season is over, probably in December, it’ll premiere on one of the channels. This movie deserves as wide of an audience as it can get.
