๐ 2021 Christmas Binge Watch Movie #87 ๐
I kinda liked this very old school extremely predictable Christmas movie, mainly because Cindy Busby and Sam Page had good chemistry and sold us some goods. It's another save the something story, this time it's save the toy drive cause this charity got swindled. PR mega guru has to convince cranky 'I don't like Christmas' famous baseball player to come and help save the day. How does she accomplish this, well in a few days she's gotta teach him to love Christmas by decorating a tree, ice skating, and other stuff. Naturally love starts to bubble to the surface, this is a Christmas movie after all. This feels like something Hallmark would've aired, especially post 2013, which is probably why GAC snatched it up. Doesn't hurt that popular actors with the Hallmark crowd also star in this, but that's business. The story is a bit slow, and they don't really address some family tension going on with step parents and siblings, but the cast is fine and it looks okay.
I was surprised that it was a bit more religious than I thought it would be given the storyline, but it's not all consuming or beating you over the head with anything. It's basically throw away lines like God doesn't give you more than you can chew and stuff like that. They play it safe, and most defiantly don't over do it so as to not offended anybody watching. The movie is harmless. It's your typical connect the dots save the whatever while falling in love plot. You could do worse.
My Rating: ⭐⭐½
