On the surface I liked the premise of the movie, a famous family who's drifting apart comes undone during filming of their reality show at Christmas. All the pieces are there, but I could not buy that the producers of the reality show were trying to ambush them. This wasn't a documentary, or an undercover investigation. There's no way in todays day and age can anybody buy that they trick you on reality shows. Reality shows are so fake, everything is planned out immaculately. They have writers. Nothing is unplanned or real, that's how those shows are today. There's like two percent authentic probably. I might be nitpicking here, but this kinda bothered me. Of course this is fiction, so reality doesn't need to be there, but it was a hill I couldn't get passed. Even though that plot point was hard to swallow, I thought everything else was okay. I liked the characters, the acting is decent, the music is fine, looked pretty good. It almost worked for me. Not a bad watch.
My Rating: ⭐⭐½
Where to Watch: VH1, Prime Video
