There was a lot going on here. A lot of drama mixed in with weirdly timed comedy which I don’t think fully worked. So a guy running away from the mob crashes at his ex’s house and plays mall Santa. Not only does he have to make amends to his family, he also has to save the mall. As Santa he’s bringing the mall community together, and changing the mind of a karen. A tall task if you ask me. I liked the actors, decent chemistry, some of the jokes I laughed at. Like when his clueless white boss asks how he keeps his suit clean all the time and he answers with I go to the Jefferson cleaners. Lots of references to seventy and eighties tv shows. My word, who doesn’t know about The Jeffersons. That’s a stretch. It’s alright, they made the most with the budget and locations. There’s an air of charm around it, but it does take itself a little too seriously.
My Rating: ⭐⭐½
Where to Watch: BET+, Prime Video
